Western elites have been trending this way for quite some time. For reasons that defy rational analysis our governing class has decided that the best thing for them – certainly not us hoi poloi – is to destroy the civilization that granted them the privileges they now enjoy, all the while looting it while there is anything left to loot. Anybody paying attention has seen it. America has been on the same track, albeit a little further back, following Western Europe down.
This was foretold by Yuri Bezmenov back in ’80s, here, and in more detail, here. He was thinking in terms of directly subversive actions undertaken at the behest of the KGB in support of the world wide Communist revolution. It seems clear, to me, at least, the the Communists and their deluded, sympathetic minions set the mechanisms in place and kicked them off. Then following the fall of the Soviet Union, criminal elements, which have always been closely allied to Communists, took them over for their own purposes (mostly power and personal enrichment).
Not that the Loony Left isn’t out there. The real, hard core, radical Communists are present and organizing ever greater numbers of radicalized youth (thank you teacher’s unions) to prepare to overthrow the government of the United States. Karlyn Borysenko has been keeping an eye on these people for years (language warning). They don’t like Trump (long), here they are complaining, sharing opposition research and scheming.
Love him or hate him, Trump has lit off the American Counter Revolution. I find it very funny how complicit judges issue orders outside their jurisdictions enjoining the Administration from exposing the theft of taxpayer dollars and protecting the grift. What is less amusing is how reluctant the Administration has been to use the tools available to them, and worse, declining to inform the American People of the tools available to us.
The MAGA movement may or may not stave off civil war. It won’t save America from ourselves. We are at this pass because we allowed it to come to this. We didn’t have to, but we did. The rot that brought us here will not be cleansed by MAGA or any other political fix. Evil when it is weak pleads for tolerance. And we were tolerant when we ought to have been adamant. Because evil, once it gains the upper hand, must, in its arrogance, destroy the good that stands in witness against it. That is where we are: we have given evil the upper hand. We the People, individually and collectively, allowed evil to flourish.
Only a spiritual cure will set things to right. Only a return to Gospel principles, the same principles on which our nation was founded, can effect a lasting change for the better. As I write these words we are in Holy Week, Good Friday is just around the corner. Unless we, as a nation, embrace Christ’s cross, the only door through which to enter into the power of His Resurrection, we are done.
