I remember reading Alvin Toffler’s Future Shock in 1976 and being personally confident that I would manage. Now I’m not so sure.
This is a tremendous power for good or evil. At the same time is is so very vulnerable. Already our whole electrical grid is antiquated and vulnerable to accident or sabotage. These AI systems are at least as vulnerable. If something like this computing mega center has a problem the effects could be far reaching.
Personally, though I am not much of a prepper, I am, hopefully, ready for a rainy day, or a rainy month. Especially out here on the West coast where a good solid earthquake could cause massive damage, as it did in the Northridge earthquake of 1994.
I present this because it will affect everybody. I strongly suggest we know our neighbors, know what resources are available in the event of trouble. Stay away from crowds, and keep your weapons and your clothes where you can find them in the dark. And pray that the day will not find you unprepared.
